WHAT TEACHERS MAKE 


We were sitting around discussing life.
One person, a lawyer decided to explain the problem with education.He argued, "What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was  going to be a teacher? He reminded us what they say about teachers:"Those who can, "do". Those who can't, teach."

To Stress his point he said; "Kevin You're a teacher.Be honest. What do you make at it?" Well trying to be honest and frank I replied,
(Because as of yet I don't make much in the way of money.)
"You want to know what I make?  Well, I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could.I make a good effort feel like the Congressional Medal of Honor.I make kids sit through 40 minutes of class time when their parents can'tmake them sit for 5 minutes without an iPod, Game Cube or movie rental...
"You want to know what I make?".I make kids wonder. I make them question. I make them criticize.I make them apologize and mean it.I make them have respect and take responsibility for their actions.I teach them to think and then I make them think.I make them practice and then practice more..I make them show me what they have learned,
and encourage them to learn more and do better each time they do something.I let my students know they belong
 and that here in my school they are family and I care and they learn to care about each other.I make my classroom a place where all my students feel safe.
I teach my students responsibility and that with responsibility comes consequences.
I teach them about making good choices.
I am constant in my discipline and my students learn discipline.I make my students stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flagbecause we live in the United States of America.Finally, I make them understand that if they use the gifts they were given,work hard, and follow their hearts, they can all succeed in life.
I make them proud of who they are.
"Then, when people try judge me by what I make, I can hold my head up high and payno attention because they are ignorant... You want to know what I make?""I MAKE A DIFFERENCE....What do you make?"
